CLG Terms of Reference

The Tallawarra Power Station Community Liaison Group will be the key vehicle through which stakeholder groups will provide advice to TRUenergy in relation to the development of the Tallawarra site. The Community Liaison Group will comprise representatives of groups who have a demonstrable interest in or connection to, the site. It is anticipated that this will include but not be limited to community, conservation and business groups, as well as state and local government interests.

The Community Liaison Group will be guided by the following terms of reference:

  • Discuss and assist in resolving matters of environmental, economic and social concern.
  • Monitor the integrated sustainability performance of the energy facility during the construction and operation phases.
  • Provide a forum through which:
    • information on development works associated with the site is made available to stakeholders;
    • the community can provide local knowledge and skills in a constructive way;
    • key stakeholders can provide input into the formulation of additional uses for the site;
    • dialogue between all stakeholders is encouraged and supported.
  • Provide an opportunity for participation in relevant key decision making processes connected to these works and ongoing site management.
  • Assist in establishing relationships between TRUenergy and key stakeholders and the wider community.
  • Provide a conduit for the dissemination of information to, and input from community members and other key stakeholders.
  • Provide an opportunity to enhance community ownership of project outcomes.

Ground rules for the Community Liaison Group

  • Meetings will start and finish on time
  • Alternate delegates are permitted but attendance should be notified in advance
  • Community Liaison Group members shall receive meeting notes within 10-12 working days of the meeting taking place
  • Where a response cannot be given at the meeting, questions shall be taken on notice and a reply given via the meeting minutes.
  • Agenda items should be received 2 weeks in advance of meetings meetings to provide TRUenergy with sufficient time to prepare considered responses.
  • All questions should be directed through the facilitator.
  • Members shall respect each others opinions
  • No single member shall make public statements purporting to represent the views of the Community Liaison Group.
